Schedule: Full Time -Days

·         No weekend shifts at this time but could change as the position grows. 

·         Have flexibility to attend throughput meetings and provide valuable feedback.

·          Opening and/or closing the discharge DHS.

Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest -  Discharge Hospitality - DHS nurse may assist or complete all discharge milestones including:

• Collaboration and communication with primary nurse, nurse, case manager, social worker, and physician.
• Removing lines/drains
• Printing and reviewing discharge paperwork (AVS)
• Initiating or reinforcing discharge education
• Scheduling and/or reinforcing follow-up appointments
• Reviewing patient discharge medications and setting up Med to Bed pharmacy
• Reviewing MyChart and Care Companion benefits
• Setting up transportation for DHS patients
• Transporting patients from room to DHS, or to their vehicle outside

DHS nurses may assist with admissions on med/surg and PCU units:

• Transporting patients from ED to inpatient room
• Settling patient and ensuring they have what they need while they wait on primary nurse.
• Assisting with charting within admission navigator

Minimum Requirements

·         Graduate of RN School of Nursing

·         ADN required

·         Active RN License

·         Minimum of 6 Months of RN experience

·         Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
