Job Summary
The Director of Nursing plans, directs, and syncs nursing and clinical services at Baylor Scott and White Health and is responsible for overseeing the clinical and administrative operations of the Emergency Department (ED) and Nursing Support Services. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, fosters a collaborative and efficient work environment, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Essential Functions of the Role
Oversee nursing services and implements both strategic and operational plans.
Track daily productivity and address any deviations from established standards.
Leads the establishment, monitoring, review, and reporting of quality improvement goals.
Investigate adverse events and consistently monitor and assess trends in nursing practice to identify opportunities for enhancing patient safety.
Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical stake holders to establish multidisciplinary processes that enhance patient care and experience.
Engage in rounding with purpose to identify patient needs, opportunities to improve the environment of care, and ways to optimize patient safety.
Ensure all nursing services are compliant with legal and regulatory guidelines.
Develop metrics for monitoring performance.
Facilitate effective communication inter and intra departmentally.
